Several volunteer firefighters spent more than four hours battling a fire that destroyed a Pillen Family Farms hog barn near Humphrey as frigid temperatures and wind complicated efforts.
Around 3 a.m., the Humphrey Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department was sent to the facility, about 3.5 miles southeast of Humphrey.
Eight fire departments responded to a fire early Monday morning at a hog confinement facility owned by Pillen Family Farms near Humphrey.
