The large, open-ended strike had led to frustrations by some patients over delayed care as well as difficulties for workers who went weeks without a paycheck.

An estimated 31,000 registered nurses and other front-line Kaiser Permanente health care workers will return to work on Tuesday after a four-week strike in California and Hawaii to demand better wages and staffing.

A Kaiser representative said the union accepted the healthcare provider’s offer of across-the-board wage increases of 21.5%

The NYSNA says the contract includes protections against workplace violence, preserved health benefits and salary increases of more than 12% over three years.

A news release from the United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) said the more than 31,000 striking Kaiser nurses and other professionals will return to work on Tuesday.
