Windows 11 Insider builds now support monitors with refresh rates above 1,000Hz, preparing the OS for the next generation of ultra-fast gaming displays.

Monitor makers are in a specs arms race and Microsoft is making a key change to Windows 11 in an effort to keep up.

A preview update for Windows 11 allows Windows to use 1,000Hz displays which largely don't exist yet, but could set the stage for ultrasmooth productivity and gaming.

More refresh rate, more pixels, and probably more money.
